Bad Tooth Fairy!

Okay, so you know my last story about all the missing teeth? Well, the tooth fairy was supposed to come last night. She forgot!!!! AHHH! I was so tired last night that I spaced it. I woke up at like 6AM in a panic - I must have been dreaming about it. By that time it was too early and he would for sure wake up.

So this morning Carter comes in after getting dressed and looks at me sadly and says, "The tooth fairy didn't bring any money last night. I even went right to sleep." Would that not make you feel like the worst mom on Earth?

So I thought quickly and said, "Honey, sometimes lots of kids lose their teeth on the same night and it's really hard for the tooth fairy to make it to everyone's house in time before morning. She's probably just running late. I won't touch a thing and I'm sure she'll come when I'm out running errands today."

C: "Does that really happen, Mom?"

Me: "Sure it does honey. It happened to me before too. (I think it really did actually)

He seemed to be happy with my answer. He asked me one more time before I dropped him off at school if it really happened to me. Then he was happy.

CRISIS AVERTED. Whew! So, just as I got done loading Peyton in the car I REMEMBERED I was the tooth fairy! I almost forgot again. Bad mom! Bad, bad mom!!!

Ya, I forgot two nights in a row. I felt so terrible. We had the tooth fairy write a letter to Kaitlynd telling her that she was sorry and that her little fairy kitten has been sick. (hehehehe)Talk about playing on a kids emotions.

Don't beat yourself up about it. If that is the worst you do, I think you are still the same wonderful mom you've always been. But it does make for a good story to be used against you later in life.
